Collaborating with You to Advance Your Science
Our staff are here to aid in use of a wide array of cytometers. We consult at every step of the process, including panel design, and marker and color choice, as well as data analysis and troubleshooting. However, we do not independently analyze samples for users.
We are the only flow cytometry facility in the Pacific Northwest that offers therapeutic cell sorting, and collaborate closely with Fred Hutch’s Therapeutic Products Program to support investigators administering early-stage clinical trials of cellular immunotherapies.
Revealing the Immune Response to CAR-T Cell Therapy
The Flow Cytometry core helped Dr. Sylvain Simon design a flow panel and standardized assay to examine how CAR-T therapy affects patients’ immune cells.
Training
During business hours, trained and knowledgeable staff are available to assist users with using cytometers, setting up experiments, and data analysis. All new users must complete the Hutch Learning orientation session to familiarize themselves with our policies and lab procedures. Users who wish to sort cells will be required to complete sorting-specific biosafety training.
If users are interested in using cytometers after business hours, training is required for all instruments. We offer personal one-on-one training. Please contact the flow cytometry staff for more details.

Both internal and external users can reserve cytometers in the Flow Cytometry core through iLab.
We do not offer independent analysis of samples for users.
You do not need to be trained on how to use a cytometer to make a reservation for assisted use during normal business hours. If you are interested in receiving hands-on training to use the instruments after-hours, please contact the Flow Cytometry Staff for more information.
Additional training and educational materials are coming soon.
Please contact the Flow Cytometry core staff for assistance with troubleshooting your unexpected results.
