From the lab to the leadership team, breakthrough science demands collaboration. To further our mission to eliminate cancer and related diseases, we partner with top-caliber institutions, companies and philanthropic organizations.
As an academic, teaching, research and patient-treatment organization, Fred Hutch works with other institutions worldwide to develop lifesaving, leading-edge therapies. These therapies and the highest-quality care are made available to patients from around the world through our patient-care environment.
We also collaborate with leading technology companies on game-changing data science projects. One such project uses novel patient-engagement tools that employ biosensors and mobile apps, artificial intelligence and computer vision applications in radiology. Another project uses natural-language processing tools to reduce the time it takes to annotate patient records.

Cancer Consortium
The Fred Hutch/University of Washington Cancer Consortium was formed in 2002 to enhance and accelerate cancer research. It combines the strengths of four independent powerhouses: Fred Hutch, University of Washington and Seattle Children’s. The consortium brings together more than 600 faculty with research interests in basic, clinical and public health sciences.
UCI-Fred Hutch Cancer Centre
The first comprehensive cancer center in Uganda, the UCI-Fred Hutch Cancer Centre focuses on cutting-edge research, training and clinical care. Jointly built by Fred Hutch and the Uganda Cancer Institute with support from the U.S. Agency for International Development and the government of Uganda, the center features life sciences and biomedical laboratories, training facilities and a clinic that can accommodate 16,000 outpatient visits each year.
Collaborations
Seattle Translational Tumor Research
Cascadia Data Alliance
Seattle Translational Tumor Research
Seattle Translational Tumor Research is a multidisciplinary effort involving physicians and scientists from Fred Hutch, UW Medicine and Seatle's Childrens. Its primary goal: to translate laboratory sciences into the most precise, personalized treatment options for patients with solid-tumor cancers, including cancers of the brain, breast, colon, lung and prostate.
Brotman Baty Institute for Precision Medicine
Brotman Baty Institute for Precision Medicine
This UW Medicine, Fred Hutch and Seattle Children’s collaboration uses genetic or molecular profiling to create precision treatments for patients.
Allen Institute for Immunology
Allen Institute for Immunology
We work with the Allen Institute to chart the immune system using big data and emerging technologies to reveal how immunity goes astray in cancer.
