Survivorship Program Advisory Board

Become a Member of the Survivorship Advisory Board

Thank you very much for your interest in volunteering to becoming an Advisory Board Member for the Fred Hutch Survivorship Program. We look forward to working with you!

Purpose

Our purpose for this Advisory Board is to engage with cancer survivors for feedback on the events, conferences and programs we develop, in order to improve and tailor our offerings to meet the specific needs of this group. Advisors improve the programs we develop by helping us better understand the survivor, caregiver and family point of view.

It is important that this Advisory Board be representative of diverse communities and backgrounds to meet the needs of all survivors, caregivers and families.  Black, Indigenous, and people of color are encouraged to apply.

Position Summary

Advisory Board members will serve as a resource during planning meetings for future events, primarily our annual Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness event. Members will help us identify topics of support and education to tailor the events to meet the needs of survivors, caregivers, and their families.  Input will include program development, implementation and evaluation of these events.

Time Commitment

Advisor opportunities include projects that range from attending only one meeting to ongoing monthly or bi-monthly meetings during the active planning time periods prior to big events which is typically 6 months. Our goal is for each meeting to last no longer than 1 hour.

Participation in Advisory Board Meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic will remain virtual.
