Colorectal Cancer Community Awareness Event
The Population Health Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Screening Program holds our annual CRC Community Awareness Event for community members to learn how to prevent and reduce their risk for colorectal cancer.
This year's CRC Community Awareness Event was held on March 3, 2024 in partnership with the National Coalition of 100 Black Women at First African Methodist Episcopal Church (FAME). Attendees spoke with navigators who connected them to health care resources, listened to survivors share their stories, and met with doctors and dieticians to discuss how to reduce their cancer risk.
Previous Events
On March 13, the Fred Hutch/UW Medicine Population Health Colorectal Cancer Screening Program hosted its 2nd annual Community Education event in partnership with several local organizations. Community members learned about colorectal cancer risk reduction, had the opportunity to take home screening test kits, walk through an inflatable colon, get connected to healthcare resources, and listen to stories from colon cancer survivors.
