Ohio State University, 1993, MS (Applied Statistics)

University of Iowa, 1990, MA (Economics)

Research Interests

Development of genetic statistical methodologies, including phylogenetic tree reconstruction from genetic sequences

Association of genetic markers with diseases

Prediction of human leukocyte antigen (HLA) alleles from other polymorphisms such as single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs)

Host genetics association with human immunity, especially immune-related diseases such as HIV infection and progression

Current Projects

Statistics for HIV Vaccine Trials Network studies (HVTN087 and HVTN090 phase 1 trials and killer immunoglobulin-like receptor [KIR]/HLA ancillary study of phase IIb STEP trial)

Statistics for RV152, an evaluation of volunteers who became infected with HIV during participation in the RV144 HIV vaccine trials (US Military HIV Research Program [MHRP])

Statistics for non-human primate model (NHP) T-cell ELISpot assays (Collaboration for Aids Vaccine Discovery [CAVD])
