Why do you practice interventional radiology?

Karim Valji, MD is a professor of radiology and former chief of interventional radiology at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Medical School. He trained at the University of California, San Diego before joining the faculty of that institution in 1990. He moved to UW Medicine in 2007. Dr. Valji has written more than 80 publications and given more than 300 invited lectures in the field of radiology. He is particularly recognized for his work on thrombolysis and dialysis access interventions and has also served as editor-in chief of the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. The three editions of his previous textbook, The Practice of Interventional Radiology, have become standard works in the field.
