Hematology-Oncology

“At Fred Hutch, results from groundbreaking research are combined with the highest standard of care to offer the optimal treatment to each patient.”

— Dr. Rashidi

Why did you choose oncology?

I became familiar with cancer from a young age, having seen how cancer affected my grandmother. With little knowledge at the time, cancer appeared like an incurable condition to me. I chose oncology to change this.

What is your approach to care and treatment?

I try to be creative. By combining conventional knowledge with new data coming from research, I try to individualize the care I offer. I let this paradigm evolve as the patient goes through different stages of treatment. Here at Fred Hutch, all aspects of care, from sharing information to acute care to chronic complications and social support, are equally considered. I am happy to be part of this large multidisciplinary team.

Provider Background

Area of Clinical Practice
Blood and marrow transplantation, cellular therapy

I am a medical oncologist that sees patients at the South Lake Union Campus.

Transplantation and cellular therapy can cure some of the most devastating blood cancers. I led a multicenter clinical trial of chemotherapy combined with donor lymphocyte infusion (DLI) for the treatment of relapsed acute leukemia after transplantation.
