I began working at Fred Hutch Cancer Center – South Lake Union in 2023, where I have the privilege to provide comprehensive care for patients across a range of diseases and treatments. I decided to become a registered dietitian because I am deeply fascinated by the intricate relationship between diet and health outcomes.
Beyond the scientific benefits of nutrition, I am also drawn to the multifaceted role that food plays in our lives. Food is not just a means to sustenance, but a way to connect with others, celebrate milestones and explore our cultural heritage. It is a fundamental aspect of our identity, shaped by our upbringing, traditions and personal experiences. This unique intersection of science, culture and personal connection makes nutrition highly individualized and complex.
I'm passionate about empowering patients to use nutrition as a tool for healing and recovery, acknowledging the unique personal and emotional factors that shape each individual's journey.
When not working, I find joy in exploring new ways to stay active and energized. As a former D1 cross-country/track athlete, running will always be my go-to, but I’ve also developed a passion for hiking, biking, climbing, lifting and dancing at live music events.
Patient Care Philosophy
Curiosity and compassion are essential elements of my practice. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where patients feel comfortable to show up as they are. I believe that food is morally neutral and what constitutes "healthy" is unique to each individual's circumstances. My goal is to empower patients by providing education, support and guidance, allowing them to make informed choices about their well-being. While I am here to support and educate, I also emphasize that personal responsibility for change ultimately lies with each individual.
