How We're Keeping You Safe
Behnke Family House (formerly South Lake Union House) and Pete Gross House staff work closely with our Infection Prevention team to protect patients and caregivers from the spread of COVID-19.
We are taking the following steps:
Masks
- All staff, patients and caregivers are encouraged to wear masks when outside of their room and unable to stay at least 6 feet apart from others. Every guest is provided a new procedure mask each day.
Screening and Testing
- Patients and caregivers are screened for COVID-19 symptoms at many different points before and during their stay, including:
- Self screening as they check into the houses.
- Self screening before getting on the Fred Hutch shuttle.
- Symptom screening is conducted by your clinical team.
- If a patient and caregiver is found to be symptomatic during any of these points, they will receive instructions on what to do next.
Social Distancing
- All common areas have been designed to allow for social distancing or may be restricted during periods of high community infection rates.
Other
- All high traffic areas are cleaned at least 3 times daily.
- Patients are asked to limit the number of people staying with them.
- No visitors are allowed in the houses. Home health care workers are an exception.
- Patients and caregivers must provide their cell phone numbers at check-in. This allows us to contact them if they are exposed to a COVID-19 positive patient.
