The focus of Dr. Anna Halpern’s research and patient care is hematologic, or blood, cancers. She develops and tests evidence-based, tailored therapies for adult patients with acute myeloid leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome and myeloproliferative neoplasms. Dr. Halpern designs and conducts clinical trials of new treatments and care strategies, and she uses large databases to study broad-scale issues such as risk factors for treatment toxicity. Her goal is to improve outcomes for patients with these diseases.
