Inequity of Death and Dying (1.2 CEs)

This presentation will review the importance of open conversations regarding death and dying, not only to improve the continuum of patient care in oncology, but to support staff resilience in the face of increased mortality salience. Speaker Shannon Hannaway will cover inequity in access to palliative care, reaching across implicit bias in the face of death to build connection, and the impact the avoidance of discussion around death has on people of varying religions, races, gender identity, and seniority.
