About the APP Fellowship Program

The fellowship began in 2018, when two fellows were accepted for the general oncology/hematology track and one fellow was accepted for a bone marrow transplant track. Since then, the program has expanded and in 2023, five fellows were selected and the acute care track was added. In 2024, up to six fellows will be accepted into the program.

About Our Organization

Fred Hutch and alliance partner UW Medicine are committed to forwarding leading-edge cancer research as well as delivering the highest level of patient-centered care and clinical excellence.

Fellowship leaders, Heather A. Smith, PA-C, MMSc, and Carrie A. Graham, ARNP, are Fred Hutch board-certified APPs with extensive experience in oncology-related patient care, research and teaching, who are both committed to providing the highest level of training to fellows accepted into the program. This makes the fellowship an exceptional choice for NPs and PAs who not only want to build new competencies but gain insights into oncology and learn from leaders who are at the forefront of cancer care and innovation.

Fred Hutch and UW Medicine offer an inclusive culture and seek diverse applicants who desire to serve our patient populations through evidence-based, collaborative and compassionate high-quality care.
